CHRISTMAS IN JULY

“The Way” would like to invite you to celebrating Christmas in July by supporting Orphan Grain Train and their Christmas Boxes. Please consider picking up instructions for putting together a Christmas Box.

  • Take a box, list and label and fill the box with exactly what is on the list, for a boy or girl and mark the label for age group.
  • This is very important; you can’t add anything other than what the list says, and you can’t put notes or pictures in the boxes.
  • The boxes will need to be filled and returned no later than July 28, 2024. If you have any questions, our life group “The Way ” is organizing this mission this year and will be glad to answer you may have. You can ask Ruth Walla 402-580-1764.

MORTGAGE BURNING CEREMONY AND CELEBRATION LUNCHEON

Word of Life’s building loan is being retired! The Board of Lay Ministry has made the decision to pay off our remaining building loan balance of $14,679.23 from our Building Fund assets. Thanks to your generosity, we are blessed to see this debt retired nearly 9 years after moving into our worship facility. In recognition of this, we are planning a mortgage burning ceremony and celebration luncheon for Sunday, August 18. Please mark your calendars and look for more information about this special event in the coming weeks.

CONSIDERING LUTHERAN EDUCATION?

Have you considered sending your children to a Lutheran school? Word of Life helps support families who make the decision to send their children to one of our fabulous Lutheran schools with Tuition Assistance spiritual encouragement. OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

In order to better serve our families, we have improved two spaces for children on Sunday mornings.

LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)

Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.

And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!

Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!

WORD OF LIFE DECALS

Did you get your WORD OF LIFE DECAL?

If you haven’t they will be available for purchase at the Scrip table on Sundays!

SAY IT WITH FLOWERS

If you would like to help beautify our worship space, consider giving flowers! If you have any cut flowers from your garden, or if you’d like to donate toward the purchase of flowers, please contact the office at WOLLincolnOffice@gmail.com.

SCRIP CARD FUNDRAISING

Super Saver and Hy-vee Cards are available for purchase on Sunday mornings at the Scrip Table along with other select cards!

How Gift Card Fundraising Works

Earn money simply by buying gift cards to use for everyday purchases, instead of cash or credit cards. For every gift card that is sold, the brand gives a percentage of that purchase back to your cause. You can be fundraising simultaneously while you do basic things like grocery shopping, filling up your tank at the gas pump, or even buying school clothes for your kids. Don’t pass up the opportunity to fundraise for Word of Life as you’re accomplishing your weekly tasks!
