SERMON SERIES

We are currently in a five-week sermon series exploring the present impact of setting our minds on things to come. Beyond graduations, beyond promotions, beyond elections, beyond war… Beyond all these things we’ll be setting our minds on the new creation that comes after the return of our Lord. Far from serving as a simple escape from present hardship, being heavenly-minded has important impact on our lives today. Join us as we dig into more of what those impacts are!

Week 1 – A Place Prepared for You

Week 2 – Endowed with Hope

Week 3 – Inspired to Evangelize

Week 4 – Good Direction for your Heart’s Desire

Week 5 – Staying Heavenly Minded

BAPTISMS OF MILA AND STELLA MCKINNEY: JULY 10

Mila and Stella McKinney will be baptized on Sunday, July 10th. Bringing someone new into the body of Christ, united with Him by faith into His death and resurrection, and receiving new life, is cause for celebration! One way you’re invited to actively participate in this celebration is by wearing white on baptism Sunday. By doing this we not only get to remember the joy of our own membership in Christ’s body and the gift of new life, but we also get to show our support for the newly baptized. The active participation of the congregation in the baptism also serves to remind us that the new life, beginning in baptism, is not lived alone. As the newly baptized grow in faith, the whole congregation gets to participate in supporting and encouraging that growth.

CEREAL NEEDED FOR MISSION PROJECT

Our mission project for VBS this year will be to collect boxes of breakfast cereal, which will be donated to our Lincoln City Missions. We have a goal of collecting enough cereal boxes to make a domino run from the altar in the sanctuary to the front doors of our church!  Can you help us by donating boxes of cereal and bringing them to the church office by July 20th?  Please spread the news and thank you so much for sharing our blessings with others.  Any questions, please contact Deb Schmidt at 402-641-2087.

SCRIP FOR FUNDRAISING

How Gift Card Fundraising Works

Earn money simply by buying gift cards to use for everyday purchases, instead of cash or credit cards. For every gift card that is sold, the brand gives a percentage of that purchase back to your cause. You can be fundraising simultaneously while you do basic things like grocery shopping, filling up your tank at the gas pump, or even buying school clothes for your kids. Don’t pass up the opportunity to fundraise for Word of Life as you’re accomplishing your weekly tasks!
