WORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN CHURCH

VACANCY PASTOR

Pastor Schmidt and his wife Brenda are natives of Antelope county in northeast Nebraska where they were members of dual parish congregations of Trinity Elgin and Grace Neligh. They were married in 1974 at Grace. They are graduates of Concordia-Seward with degrees in Lutheran teaching and Charles a Certified Director of Christian Education. Charles served as DCE at Immanuel Alliance, Nebraska and then graduated from Concordia Seminary and served at Zion St.John Lutheran Church of rural Wisner and Brenda as a school substitute teacher. They served Grace Lutheran in Fairbury as Pastor for 30 + years and Brenda as a substitute teacher and then as Grace Lutheran Parish Educator for 18 years.

They have 3 grown children and their families in Lincoln. Pastor and Brenda have 9 grandchildren ranging in age from second grade to college freshmen.

Pastor and Brenda retired in 2018 and reside in south Lincoln.

A game night & potluck fellowship is planned for Friday, March 3! Come between 6:00 and 6:30. The meal will start at 6:30.

What to bring based on last name:

A-G: main dish

H-O: side dish or salad

P-Z: dessert

Everyone is encouraged to bring a board game or two as well.

ORPHAN TRAIN TRAIN IN NEED OF DONATIONS

The Orphan Grain Train is a nonprofit Christian network that shares resources with needy people in America and around the world. They are currently in need of donations of clothing, medical supplies, blankets, and hygiene items.

2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 pm on Zoom – Tom Hoegemeyer leads a discussion.

2nd and 4th Thursdays at 7:00 at WOL – ”The Way” studies scripture and enjoys fellowship through concerts, game nights, movie nights, etc. They are currently doing a study on the gospels. For more information, contact Philip Dani or Ruth and Dan Walla.
