BAPTISM ON SUNDAY FOR EMMY ELAINE SCHEELE

Emmy Scheele will be baptized on Sunday, November 13th. Bringing someone new into the body of Christ, united with Him by faith into His death and resurrection and receiving new life, is cause for celebration! One way you’re invited to actively participate in this celebration is by wearing white on baptism Sunday. By doing this we not only get to remember the joy of our own membership in Christ’s body and the gift of new life, but we also get to show our support for the newly baptized. The active participation of the congregation in the baptism also serves to remind us that the new life, beginning in baptism, is not lived alone. As the newly baptized grow in faith, the whole congregation gets to participate in supporting and encouraging that growth.

TIME TO ORDER POINSETTIAS!

The poinsettias will be $10 each. Please pay Word of Life by November 27th clearly marking your check or an envelope with cash that it is for poinsettias. We will order a variety of colors rather than taking orders for color choices. Those who purchased one can take one home after the Christmas Service.

DECORATING THE CHURCH

We will be decorating the church on Saturday, November 26th at 9:00 am.

BACK TO BASICS COURSE

Over the course of 8, 1hr sessions, you’ll be instructed in the basics of what we believe, teach, and confess as Lutheran Christians. The class will require the use of a Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism (which is available for purchase at CPH.org or as a download from the app store on your smartphone). If you’re interested in a refresher or running through the basics for the first time, please email Pastor Edwards.

SCRIP FOR FUNDRAISING

How Gift Card Fundraising Works

Earn money simply by buying gift cards to use for everyday purchases, instead of cash or credit cards. For every gift card that is sold, the brand gives a percentage of that purchase back to your cause. You can be fundraising simultaneously while you do basic things like grocery shopping, filling up your tank at the gas pump, or even buying school clothes for your kids. Don’t pass up the opportunity to fundraise for Word of Life as you’re accomplishing your weekly tasks!
