Are You Ready to be Broken Down?
Sounds a little harsh, doesn’t it? Do we need to be broken down in order to become a follower of God? Jesus spoke the law didn’t He? Things we need to do or attitudes we need to have like, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5. Who likes to be meek? It is not our usual response. So do we have to change, be broken? Yet Jesus also said, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:17.

Is there a good side of being “broken down?” Can we separate the meaning of “broken down” and “brokenness?” Let’s try this. Broken down is when we are incapacitated and overwhelmed with grief, despair and hurt and feel there is no way out. Brokenness is when we no longer look to ourselves but look to the only way out. What is that way?

Question of the Week: What was the name of the bread from heaven that God fed the Israelites as they wandered in the desert?

Answer: The bread was called manna. In the description in the Book of Exodus, manna is described as being “a fine, flake-like thing” like the frost on the ground.

Update on our LifeCenter
The Planning Team is meeting on a regular basis with Rick Geiler, our architect. A test well was drilled on our property in late December.

Present plans are to distribute bid plans in early January to be returned in late February. Construction will start as weather permits in March or April. Projected completion of the LifeCenter is Thanksgiving 2014.

We pray and trust that God will lead us as we go, serving Him. Our LifeCenter for Christ and Community Campaign Co-Leaders are R.O. Ouellette and Jason and Lynette Windhorst, Mike McHargue and Tom Hoegemeyer. Contact me, Pastor Larry at 402-641-3692 or larkitoetting@yahoo.org for information on our prayer team and the vision we have in serving Him.
