“Live as People Who Are Free” – 1 Peter 2:16
Peter tells us to live as people who are free. What difference does it make to know that we are free from the pressure of law we cannot keep, free from sin, and free from death? If that it is true that we are no longer captives, how do we live?

Does it mean we will not experience hunger, fear, discrimination or pain? Does it mean we now have no responsibilities, no call to follow? No, Peter is saying that although difficulties will come in our life we can face them with the peace that passes all understanding. We are free by and with the power of God.

Question of the week: Who was Mary of Bethany? How did she know Jesus?

Answer: We know Mary of Bethany as the sister of Martha and Lazarus who all lived in Bethany, a small village near Jerusalem. Jesus and the disciples were often their guests.
