My Soul Waits- Psalm 130
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran pastor and writer, composed a poem called, “Who Am I”, a month before he was executed for treason by the Nazi government. He ends that poem in which he expresses his doubts about his true identity in the face of imprisonment and evil with these words: “Who am I? They mock me, these lonely questions of mine. Whoever I am, Thou knowest, O God, I am thine.”
Psalm 130 calls out to a God who cares for us as a father cares for his children. He is our Holy Father who loves, forgives and redeems us. How does that affect us and direct us as we ask the question, “Who Am I?”
What does our life, our action, our worship show is in our hearts? Do we acknowledge that we have a need of a forgiving God? Are we in awe of what God has done and does for us? Or do we act and worship as if we doubt that we really need a God?
Does your soul wait for the Lord? Do the words and hope of Psalm 130 fit you, that is match your beliefs and understanding of life? By God’s grace, we say yes and know, believe and live the words of Bonhoeffer, “Whoever I am, Thou knowest, O God, I am thine.”
Question of the week: Psalm 130 is one of the seven penitential psalms. The others are 6, 32, 38, 51,102 and 143. The authors of Psalm 102 & 130 are not known but we do know that David wrote the rest. Penitential means repentance. Why is it necessary that we repent when we sin?
Answer: Without repentance there can be no forgiveness. Jesus said, “No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish). ” (Luke 13:3; 17:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9

We Are Moving In!- 200 Fletcher
Great news! Both the City Inspector and the State Fire Marshal have given us the go ahead for occupancy so Word of Life’s first worship service in our LifeCenter will be Sunday March 22nd.
There is some work to be done but it does not have to be done before Sunday. The work is fairly minor and most will be done by the contractors.
Praise God and blessings and thanks to all. Pastor
