We are glad you are here to worship with us this at our 6:00pm Christmas Eve Candlelight Service called, “For Unto You!” Luke 2:11
During Advent our messages have followed the theme of “Sudden Change!” When sudden change happens what has been normal is no longer normal. A call, an opportunity and a new insight is given and with that comes a new way of living, believing and seeking. Isaiah, David, Simeon, Peter and Paul heard the call, felt the change. Now it our turn.
What happen that star lit night, the message that was given to the shepherds in the field, brought a sudden change personally to each shepherd and to us. Listen again as the angel tells you the special message, personally delivered to you.
Question: Is it true that during World War 1, the fighting stopped at the front line on Christmas Eve and Silent Night was sung by the soldiers of opposing armies?
Answer: Yes, it is true. The song was sung simultaneously in French, English and German by troops during the Christmas truce of 1914, as it was one of the few carols that soldiers on both sides of the front line knew.
