“We Are Champions” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Paul, in his letter to Timothy, gives a review, an evaluation of a race that he has completed.

It is the very race that he encouraged all to run to win the prize (1 Cor 9:24) and thus to be a champion. His words are to be focused and disciplined in our living to God’s glory as an athlete is focused on her best performance. All are to run the race knowing the prize that is to be received. Knowing that prize we race with purpose, self-control, and personal committed effort.
Paul now declares that he has run the race successfully. He has kept the faith and is a champion. What does it feel like to step on the award stand as an Olympian and receive your medal? Paul’s promise to us is we will know that feeling as we receive the crown of righteousness, and hear the words, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
