‘Who Am I?” Exodus 3:11-12
Just who are we at this tumultuous time of elections and wars?
Should we just ignore the confusion, arguments and difficulties of our times? Is there a way we can live with direction and confidence? What do we need to know and understand so we live as people of hope and purpose?”
Moses asked God, “Who am I to do this?” Why did Moses question God? It had to do with what God had just told Moses to do? God had just told Moses to go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.” That was God’s challenge and command for Moses and he had the audacity to ask God, “Who am I to do this?”
What has God asked you to do? Our challenge is to ask God the same question. Who am I to do this? What do you understand is God’s plan for you? Moses had doubts that he could do what God told him to do. Yes, don’t doubt it, God has a plan for you. It is not limited by your own self- definition. We do not define ourselves or limit our potential. As that command becomes clear ask that question, “Who am I to do this?”
God’s answer to Moses is His answer to us. I will be with you. Then God tells Moses, “This will be the sign.” What was Moses’ sign? What will be your sign?
