Communion Statement
Baptized adult Christians and those who have completed confirmation, who
know they need God’s daily forgiveness, who are sorry for their sins, who seek
God’s forgiveness, and who believe the body and blood of Jesus Christ are truly
present in this meal are invited to share this great gift of God.
We encourage those who are unsure of their beliefs or who don’t yet agree with
our beliefs to use the time of communion to reflect, pray, and sing. We encourage those who are in agreement with us in our beliefs to receive the body and blood of Jesus given and shed for our forgiveness.

Songs: “Our Love is Loud”
“King of My Heart”

Psalm verses responsively Psalm 27:1-2 & 4
(Light verses Pastor, bold verses congregation)

“The Lord is my light and my salvation;
        whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
        of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes,
         it is they who stumble and fall.
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
    that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
    to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
   and to inquire in his temple. “

Jesus Foretells Peter’s Denial

36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but you will follow afterward.” 37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” 38 Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.

Offering and Children’s Message

Message: “…you will deny me…”
Theme: Not only did Peter deny Jesus three times, but we, by word and deed,
deny Jesus MANY times. Jesus stands by us as He did Peter, forgiving our
denials as He forgave Peter and will never deny us before the throne of God.

Responsive Prayer and Reflection
(Light verses Pastor, bold verses congregation)

We give glory to Your name, O Lord for Your steadfast love and faithfulness.
While we have denied you, you have never denied us and have stood by us
with grace and forgiveness.
You have been mindful of our need for forgiveness and we know you stand before the throne of the Father interceding for us. From this time forth and even forevermore we bless and Praise you.
We regret that we have often caused You sorrow by our many transgressions. We have neglected many opportunities to confess Jesus before others. For these sins we beg Your forgiveness.

Send us Your Holy Spirit that He may strengthen our faith in our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. Help us to trust in Him as the only way between earth and heaven. May we constantly rejoice in the certainty of our salvation. Guide the leaders or nation, state, and nation. Guide our congregation as we transition in pastoral leadership and care. Guide the entire process of this transition. Bless Pastor Edwards and all military chaplains. Give strength to the weak and the discouraged. May those we pray for now
be blessed with the assurance of your grace,,,,(requested petitions) This we ask in the name of Him who justified us in your sight by His blood, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
