Advent Season Begins Sunday
Advent, the season of preparation for celebrating the birth of Christ, begins Sunday.

The liturgical color for this season is predawn blue, symbolizing hope emphasizing the coming of the Christ that we look forward to and look back to, at the same time. With Advent we have the joy of finding the baby Jesus yet always pursuing Him.
Notice that the Advent Panel on our Altar is blue merging to Christmas white centering on a red cross showing that Jesus was born to redeem us. The newly installed blue Advent wall panels embrace us with the good news, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.” Isaiah 9:6

Blessing of the Sanctuary Wall Panels
During the service Sunday we will have a Blessing Ceremony for the newly installed Advent Panels. Word of Life Church commissioned the Liturgical Art Department of Concordia to design, create and install the wall panels that you see today in the front of our sanctuary. The Director of the Liturgical Art Department at Concordia and artist who created the art work is Evan Balleweg, also a member at Word of Life. Four sets of wall panels have been created changing them as we enter seasons of the church year including Advent, Christmas, Lent and Pentecost.
