LADIES CHRISTMAS TEA
Please join us for an afternoon of fun with the ladies (both young and not-so-young) at Word of Life! We will have tea (and coffee, and cocoa), Christmas goodies, a fun craft, and a devotion. Let’s take some time out of our busy holiday schedules to focus on what really matters this season, our Savior! |

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

We will be preparing the kids during Sunday School each week for the songs and the parts they will have in the program. Watch for notes in your kids Sunday school bags regarding the songs and what they will be doing. Thanks for your support.
There will be no Sunday School the following Sundays:
December 22nd, December 29th and January 5th
If you have any questions regarding the children’s part of the program, give Ruth Walla 402-580-1764 a call. |

I-180 CORRIDOR YOUTH NEWS
High School youth are invited to a Christmas party Sunday, December 8th from 6-9 at Holy Savior. During this event, the youth will do a White Elephant gift exchange (bring a gift, $20 limit!), fun Christmas activities, and we will watch a Christmas movie. In order to make this a special event to celebrate Christmas, we would also love to have some parents willing to provide a simple meal (ex: soup, sandwiches) and snacks for the youth.
If you are willing to provide snacks, please sign up at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DtEfE5CBfRpGsu20sLmPoRPq_68fGnbCsyWhxPcvvA8/edit?usp=sharing
For middle schoolers, we will have a Christmas movie night on Sunday, December 15th from 7-9 at Holy Savior. We will be watching the 2018 version of The Grinch. Popcorn will be provided.
For each event, whether your child is planning to attend or not, please fill out this form to RSVP so we can plan accordingly: https://holysavior.churchcenter.com/people/forms/859743
Finally, because of Advent services during the month of December on Wednesday nights, our high school Bible Study will not meet during December, and we will instead have our Bible study included with our December events.

POINSETTIA ADOPTIONS
Please consider adopting a Poinsettia this holiday season!
Our church will be adopting some poinsettias to beautify the sanctuary this Christmas. After Christmas Eve service, they will need a new home! You may take your adopted poinsettia home after the Christmas Eve Service or the Sunday after. Poinsettia adoptions are $10 each, and can be adopted in the name or memory of someone (which will be in the Christmas bulletin). If you would like to adopt a poinsettia but would not like to take it home with you, arrangements can be made to take those poinsettias to other members or to a care facility.
Please fill out an adoption form or contact the office to reserve your poinsettia today! WOLLincolnOffice@gmail.com

PASTOR CALVIN KAPELS DECLINES CALL
Thank you to all of you for joining together with us in prayer over the Call process for our next pastor. Pastor Calvin Kapels informed us that he does not feel that Word of Life is where God is calling him to serve. Please continue prayers for our Call committee and our next Pastor as we continue the search.
Please see the note below from Pastor Cal:
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ at Word of Life,
It has been a true honor and joy to meet you all and see the amazing things that God is doing through you all. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms as I have spent time with you and praying for where God would have me serve as a pastor. While we were led to remain at Christ Lutheran in Norfolk, I am still excited about what God has planned for you all with your next pastor. You all will remain in my prayers and thank you for the opportunity to see a wonderful ministry and church family that loves Jesus and others. God’s blessings on your Advent and Christmas season, and may the hope, peace, joy, and love of Jesus fill you all!
In His Service,
Pastor Cal |
OPTIONS FOR PARENTS
LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)
Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.
And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!
Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
