LENTEN SERVICES & MEALS
Lent is a time of preparation and reflection as we anticipate the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord. We use this time for reflection upon our own sinfulness. Ash Wednesday (March 5) is the first day of Lent.
Weekly Services and Meals
We will host services at 6:30 PM on Wednesdays during Lent, with a meal starting at 5:45 PM.
Volunteers Needed
We have Wednesdays open for meals, and we invite anyone who would like to volunteer to provide food during any of the weeks in Lent. Please see the sign-up sheet in the office if you are interested in providing or helping with a meal.
Let’s use this time to come together as a community and deepen our faith. Thank you for your support and participation. |
WILDFIRE DISASTER RELIEF
The wildfires in Los Angeles County, California, continue to inflict widespread damage and suffering throughout the Los Angeles area. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is in close communication with the LCMS Pacific Southwest District (PSD) regarding our Synod’s response.
As long as it takes, LCMS Disaster Response will walk alongside the PSD and its congregations in this response. Our shared response includes the entire Synod’s prayers, along with spiritual resources to assist church workers as they care for their congregations. In addition, we are here to offer practical support in the form of ongoing counsel and advice and material support in the form of supplies, recovery grants and volunteer coordination.
If you are able financially to support the church’s response to wildfires in California, please prayerfully consider a contribution to:
- The LCMS Disaster Response—Strategic Use fund. Visit lcms.org/give/disaster or mail a check to The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, or LCMS, at P.O. Box 66861, St. Louis, MO 63166-6861. On the memo line, write “Disaster Response—Strategic Use (TR9206).” This fund allows our Synod to continue its care and support, as the demands warrant, of those still suffering in North Carolina and other parts of the Southeast as well as those affected by the wildfires in California.
- The LCMS Wildfire Relief (only) fund. Your gift will only be utilized to help those impacted by wildfires. Visit lcms.org/disaster and select the “Disaster Response — Wildfires” option in the “Giving opportunities” or mail a check to The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, or LCMS, at P.O. Box 66861, St. Louis, MO 63166-6861. On the memo line, write “Wildfire Relief Only.”
- Orphan Grain Train: P.O. Box 1466, Norfolk NE, 68702. Memo: CA FIRES

I-180 CORRIDOR YOUTH NEWS
Bible Study continues for High School Youth. 7:30-8:30pm on Wednesdays. During this semester, we are going to work through a series focused on truth – where we find it and how we share the truth in love
On February 23rd from 7-9 at Holy Savior, middle schoolers are invited to a mafia-style game called “Murder in the Dark.” This is a popular game among the middle schoolers that we’ve played at other events, and by request, we will have a full event playing that game. Similar to the classic game “Mafia” and the newer game, “Among Us,” youth will work together to stop the murderer and win the game! We will conclude our event with a Bible study.

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS
LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)
Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.
And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!
Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
