Thank you to all of you who were able to join us for our Voters Meeting Sunday. Word of Life voted unanimously to extend a Divine Call to Pastor Calvin Kaples, who currently serves as Associate Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, NE. Please pray for Pastor Kaples and his family as he prayerfully deliberates over this call to serve at Word of Life, and pray also for his current congregation during this time.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Children’s Christmas Program will be part of the regular Sunday Church Service on December 15, 2024, 10:30 AM. We will be preparing the kids during Sunday School each week Beginning November 17th for the songs and the parts they will have in the program. Hopefully by doing this 10 minutes each week we won’t need to have a Saturday practice for the program. Watch for notes in your kids Sunday school bags regarding the songs and what they will be doing. Thanks for your support.

There will be no Sunday School the following Sundays:

December 1st (Thanksgiving weekend ), December 22nd, December 29th and January 5th

If you have any questions regarding the children’s part of the program, give Ruth Walla 402-580-1764 a call.

RAISE RIGHT/SCRIP UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the scrip program. It is a easy way to help out Word of Life.

We will be making a scrip order soon. You can preorder and prepay and get exactly what you want. The forms are available at the scrip table for you to take with you and fill out. On the forms you can see what percentage of the card you purchase goes to the church.  We will also be ordering some cards from places that have been requested to have on hand. With the holidays fast approaching gift cards make great stocking stuffers and teacher gifts. If you have any questions you can stop by the script table or contact Linda Lowe.

COMFORT DOG MINISTRY

We need your help…

Trinity Lutheran is looking to continue its

Comfort Dog ministry but is needing to expand its volunteer base.

Trinity can’t field a team on its own and so we are reaching out to members of other LCMS congregations in Lincoln to see if there is any interest in joining us in this very impactful ministry.

Please join us for lunch and an information meeting at:

Trinity’s Fellowship Hall

(724 South 12th Street)

on Sunday November 10

from noon to 1:30

We would like to share with you more about our newly retired comfort dog, Priscilla, and our desire to continue in this mercy ministry with a new dog.  Trinity is currently working with Lutheran Church Charities on building a new team around a new dog.

For more information, please feel free to contact Trinity’s Church Office at: (402) 474-0606.

Please RSVP by November 7th, as we need to know how many we will have for lunch.  If you are unable to make this meeting but are interested, please call the church office and we will have Janet Boye reach out to you.

God’s richest blessings and please know:

We work best

when we work together.

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)

Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.

And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!

Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
