VOTERS MEETING NOVEMBER 23

On Sunday, November 23, immediately following the worship service, we will have a voters meeting to approve our 2026 ministry budget. Year-to-date financial reports and the budget proposal will be shared for review before the meeting. All members of Word of Life are encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

CHRISTMAS SCRIP

Christmas is fast approaching and we will again be doing a special script order of exactly what you want. Just fill out the order form turn it in by December 7th and the cards should be ready for pick up on December 14th. You can pay when you order or when you pick up the cards whatever works best for you.

The forms will be available at the script table on Sundays after church. As of November 2 the box if fully stocked if you need some card for Black Friday shopping.

CALL PROCESS UPDATE

The Call Committee continues to work through the call process in hope and assurance of God’s faithfulness and provision.

To recap, Word of Life has been vacant since March 2023, and we received our first candidate list in November 2023. Since then, four calls have been extended and declined. While 2.5+ years is a significant amount of time, we also know that there are more vacancies than pastors to fill them. This amount of time is in line with other calling congregations with unique ministries.

A new candidate list has been received from the Nebraska District Office. That list of 13 names has been reviewed, and we have been in contact with 8 candidates for further consideration. In our experience, not all candidates on our call lists are open to considering calls due to current congregational dynamics or life circumstances. We are currently scheduling interviews with two of those candidates, with the potential for additional interviews with one or more other candidates.

The Call Committee appreciates Pastor Schmidt’s continued service to Word of Life during our vacancy, and welcomes communication from congregation members at any time. Please continue to keep our call process in your prayers!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… at Word of Life!

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)

Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.

And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!

Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
