CALL EXTENDED TO PASTOR CALVIN KAPELS

Thank you to all of you who were able to join us for our Voters Meeting Sunday. Word of Life voted unanimously to extend a Divine Call to Pastor Calvin Kapels, who currently serves as Associate Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, NE. Please pray for Pastor Kapels and his family as he prayerfully deliberates over this call to serve at Word of Life, and pray also for his current congregation during this time.

VOTERS MEETING NOVEMBER 24

On Sunday, November 24, immediately following the worship service, we will have our voters meeting to approve our 2025 ministry budget. Year-to-date financial reports and the budget proposal will be shared for review before the meeting. All members of Word of Life are encouraged to attend; we look forward to seeing you there!

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Children’s Christmas Program will be part of the regular Sunday Church Service on December 15, 2024, 10:30 AM. We will be preparing the kids during Sunday School each week Beginning November 17^th for the songs and the parts they will have in the program. Hopefully by doing this 10 minutes each week we won’t need to have a Saturday practice for the program. Watch for notes in your kids Sunday school bags regarding the songs and what they will be doing. Thanks for your support.

There will be no Sunday School the following Sundays:

December 22nd, December 29^th and January 5th

RAISE RIGHT/SCRIP UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the scrip program. It is a easy way to help out Word of Life.

We will be making a scrip order soon. You can preorder and prepay and get exactly what you want. The forms are available at the scrip table for you to take with you and fill out. On the forms you can see what percentage of the card you purchase goes to the church.  We will also be ordering some cards from places that have been requested to have on hand. With the holidays fast approaching gift cards make great stocking stuffers and teacher gifts. If you have any questions you can stop by the script table or contact Linda Lowe.

POINSETTIA ADOPTIONS

Please consider adopting a Poinsettia this holiday season!

Our church will be adopting some poinsettias to beautify the sanctuary this Christmas. After Christmas Eve service, they will need a new home! You may take your adopted poinsettia home after the Christmas Eve Service or the Sunday after. Poinsettia adoptions are $10 each, and can be adopted in the name or memory of someone (which will be in the Christmas bulletin). If you would like to adopt a poinsettia but would not like to take it home with you, arrangements can be made to take those poinsettias to other members or to a care facility.

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)

Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.

And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!

Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
