Word of Life voted unanimously to extend a Divine Call to Pastor Calvin Kaples, who currently serves as Associate Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, NE. Please pray for Pastor Kaples and his family as he prayerfully deliberates over this call to serve at Word of Life, and pray also for his current congregation during this time.

LADIES NIGHT AT THE FIRE PIT

We would love to invite you to join us at the firepit for fellowship and fun on Sunday, November 3, 6-8pm. We’ll start the night with a warm chili supper, and end the night around the firepit with S’mores!

TRUNK OR TREAT

Thank You to all our volunteers for Trunk or Treat! We had 10 trunks, and over 150 kids come through our parking lot. What an opportunity to tell the Story of Everything to the community!

PRAYER SERVICE AT MESSIAH

Join us for a night of prayer and reflection as we prepare for our country’s election. It is so critical to remember that OUR hope, security and peace are found in Almighty God, not in people, princes, or government (see Psalm 118), we will be praying for our nation, candidates on all sides of the political spectrum, and that initiatives would be passed which are pleasing to

God our Father and a blessing to all people.

Nursery care provided, as well as, child care for ages 3-5 in the Space.

RAISE RIGHT/SCRIP UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the scrip program. It is a easy way to help out Word of Life.

We will be making a scrip order soon. You can preorder and prepay and get exactly what you want. The forms are available at the scrip table for you to take with you and fill out. On the forms you can see what percentage of the card you purchase goes to the church.  We will also be ordering some cards from places that have been requested to have on hand. With the holidays fast approaching gift cards make great stocking stuffers and teacher gifts. If you have any questions you can stop by the script table or contact Linda Lowe.

COMFORT DOG MINISTRY

We need your help…

Trinity Lutheran is looking to continue its

Comfort Dog ministry but is needing to expand its volunteer base.

Trinity can’t field a team on its own and so we are reaching out to members of other LCMS congregations in Lincoln to see if there is any interest in joining us in this very impactful ministry.

We would like to share with you more about our newly retired comfort dog, Priscilla, and our desire to continue in this mercy ministry with a new dog.  Trinity is currently working with Lutheran Church Charities on building a new team around a new dog.

MESSIAH LUTHERAN ADMIN HELP NEEDED

Messiah Lutheran is seeking a full-time Church Executive Admin Assistant. This is a key role in supporting the daily operations of our ministry. This person would serve as an assistant to our Senior Pastor and also play a key role in supporting our worship life and member engagement. We are looking for a qualified candidate who is eager to serve and has a heart for people to know more about Jesus. OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)

Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.

And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!

Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
