I-180 CORRIDOR YOUTH NEWS

Bible Study

High schoolers will have Bible Study on the first and third Wednesdays from 7-8 PM at Holy Savior. This month will meet on October 2nd and 16th.

High School Event

Our high school event this month is also a Scavenger Hunt Race on Wednesday, October 23th, at 7:30 PM, beginning at Holy Savior. Youth will start at Holy Savior and then depart in cars (driven by adult chaperones) to different locations within the area that they will have to solve riddles to figure out. The first team back to Holy Savior will win! The event should be done by 9:00 at the latest.

If you are willing to drive one of the vehicles for the HS event, please sign up at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Rqbw3ELRT0zl6ZO18I2FP4f6b_T3aSzSkDr9UYUWM-U/edit?usp=sharing

TRUNK OR TREAT

Join us Monday, October 28, 5:30-7pm for our Annual Trunk or Treat! This coincides with the Fallbrook YMCA Trunk or Treat, so we expect our Parking Lot to be busy!

We could use your help!

*Set-up Lights

*Direct Parking

*Man the fire-pit

*Clean-up

*Host a Trunk

We will tell the “Story of Everything” starting with Creation through the Resurrection and Beyond! We have lots of ideas, and even some materials from years past that will make it easy to put your trunk together (just let us know your theme, and we can help you gather up supplies)!

If you’d like to participate by making a trunk or would like to volunteer to help sign up in the Welcome Center or contact

Michelle Meier WOLLincolnOffice@gmail.com.

MESSIAH LUTHERAN ADMIN HELP NEEDED

Messiah Lutheran is seeking a full-time Church Executive Admin Assistant. This is a key role in supporting the daily operations of our ministry. This person would serve as an assistant to our Senior Pastor and also play a key role in supporting our worship life and member engagement. We are looking for a qualified candidate who is eager to serve and has a heart for people to know more about Jesus. To inquire about this position, including requesting a copy of the job description, please contact Executive Business Director Erik Borgmeyer at (402) 489-3024 or erik.borgmeyer@messiah.us

COMFORT DOG MINISTRY

Trinity has had an active Comfort Dog Ministry through Lutheran Church Charities for the past 8 or so years. Their dog, Priscilla, has had to retire recently, due to a torn ACL. She has had surgery but will no longer be serving as a comfort dog. They are in the process of getting a new comfort dog with LCC and are in the process of finding individuals who would go through training to be handlers, as well as individuals who would be ministry partners that would help make visits to various locations in Lincoln.

Trinity is looking for active partners on the “westside” of Lincoln to partner with in this powerful ministry. They will be hosting an information meeting on November 10th from 12-1:30pm in their Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be provided.

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

LIVE STREAM in our Nursery/Preschool room available during church services for anyone with the wiggles (young and old!). This space has plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied (parents should plan to be in the room with their children.)

Wiggle Room in Room #4 (the room just to the left out the Sanctuary door) is equipped with a TV to stream the service along with chairs, and a few toys. This is a great space for feeding babies or corralling toddlers! This space is also available during Sunday School for those who are not quite ready for the Preschool classroom. Parents should plan to supervise their children in this space.

And, as always, we welcome the squirms, noises, and energy that come with children. God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel like you have to suppress it here!

Children are a gift, and we’d love to support you in the faith formation of your family!
